Hey Everyone!
My name is Dimitri Hairston, born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in May 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising and a minor in Sociology. My background in both fashion and people is what ultimately shaped @tmrw_collective.

But this didn’t start as a brand. It started as a way to survive, learn, and build something from almost nothing.
How It Started
Back in 2020, during COVID, I was working job to job at University Park Mall. I wasn’t happy with the pay, and I knew I wanted something more... something I could grow on my own. One night, while playing Fortnite with friends, we half-jokingly decided to start reselling sneakers such as Jordan’s, Yeezy’s, Dunks etc.

At the time, that felt impossible. I didn’t have any money to invest. In fact, I had $10 left in my bank account.
That same week, I entered a $10 Instagram Live raffle hosted by two well-known resellers. Somehow, I won. The prize? A pair of “Fearless” Jordan 1s.
That moment changed everything.
Building From One Pair
Instead of holding onto the shoes, I used them as a foundation. I listed them for a really good price, asked people to follow and repost to be eligible, and leaned on trust from friends already in the space. That single pair turned into $190 in profit, new connections, and my first real step into entrepreneurship.

Although, it wasn’t smooth from there.
Early on, I struggled a lot. I didn’t know how to properly research prices, authenticate products, or avoid scams. I lost money. I received empty boxes. I was falsely accused of selling fake shoes and refunded money I shouldn’t have. Altogether, I have lost over $1,000 just learning the game.

Still, I didn’t quit. I treated every mistake as a learning opportunity to make decisions going forward.
Growth, College, and Perspective
Between freshman and sophomore year of college, life hit hard. College highs, personal lows, breakups, friendships, mental health struggles- all of it happened at once. Reselling became inconsistent, not because I didn’t care, but because I was learning how to be human and taking time to enjoy college as a whole.

By junior year, everything shifted.
A close friend of mine - someone I originally met because he simply complimented my shoes at a fraternity rush event - introduced me to vintage clothing and streetwear. I watched him balance college, life, and business successfully, and it clicked. I already had a foundation on Instagram. I just needed to pivot.

While in college, clothing made sense. It was more accessible, more affordable, and more aligned with college culture. I began selling on Instagram, Depop, and eventually vending at events in person. The margins were better, the barrier to entry was lower, and I felt more connected to what I was selling.
Why TMRW Collective Exists
Going into my senior year, I met a really incredible woman who deeply influenced how I view empathy, impact, and purpose. Through shared experiences with anxiety and depression, I realized I wanted this brand to stand for more than transactions.

I didn’t want people to feel like I just wanted their money - I wanted them to feel seen.

That’s when @meechresells evolved into @tmrw_collective.

TMRW represents hope - choosing to stay, choosing to keep going, even when today feels heavy. Through curated secondhand fashion, I aim to make style accessible without breaking the bank, while also making space for conversations around mental health.

Each month, 10% of profits are donated to a different mental health or suicide prevention organization, because impact matters just as much as income.
More Than Clothing
At its core, @tmrw_collective is about second chances - for clothes, for people, and for tomorrow. By reselling and upcycling vintage and streetwear, we reduce waste, give garments new life, and use fashion as a medium for connection and awareness.

This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about progress.
Baby steps still move you forward.

Thank you for being here, for supporting the vision, and for choosing tomorrow.
